How to get our team onto your PC remotely, and fixes for some common Windows problems.
We can provide remote support during a scheduled session with a member of our team, using Quick Assist, which is built into Windows 10 and 11.
Call us on 07963 065354 to arrange a time that suits you.
Hold Ctrl + Windows + Q together, or search for Quick Assist on your taskbar at the bottom left of your screen.
We’ll give you a security code to type in. Once you allow it, we can see your screen and fix the problem with you.
Tips our team has gathered from fixing customers’ PCs. If anything here looks daunting, call us and we’ll do it for you.
Microsoft ended support for Windows 10 on 14 October 2025, so a PC still running it no longer gets regular security updates. Windows 11 needs a supported processor, and the old workaround for unsupported ones has been blocked.
Check Microsoft’s lists of supported Intel processors and supported AMD processors, or ask us. If your PC can’t upgrade, we can source a replacement.
If a recent update has left your PC unable to connect, these commands in an administrator command prompt may fix it:
netsh winsock reset netsh int ipv4 reset
Restart afterwards. Some cases have needed a call-out; the common factor has mainly been BT routers.
Open an administrator command prompt, run the first command and restart:
sfc /scannow
If it reports errors it could not fix, run these in turn:
dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth dism /online /cleanup-image /checkhealth dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
This usually happens when language settings weren’t consistent before upgrading. You don’t need to undo the upgrade:
Most upgrade problems can be avoided with a little preparation:
