Fabulous computer support, when IT really matters
Last updated: 1 November 2026. This policy explains what personal information Mariner Computer Services Ltd collects through this website, why, and what we do with it. We try to explain things clearly, in plain language.
Mariner Computer Services Ltd (company number 04890464), 23 Grey Friars, Grimsby DN37 9QT, is the data controller for information collected on this website. You can contact us about anything in this policy by emailing trevor@marinercomputerservices.com or calling 07963 065354.
Our contact form asks for your name, email address and message, and optionally your phone number and what you need help with. We use these details only to reply to you and to deal with your enquiry. Each message is stored securely in our website’s admin area and emailed to us. We never sell your details or use them for marketing without your separate, clearly given consent.
Like most websites, our web server keeps standard log information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, so we can keep the site secure and working. We do not use this to identify you, and we do not link it with any other information about you.
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device. This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. If you log in to manage the site, WordPress sets cookies needed to keep you logged in. If we embed a YouTube video on a page, YouTube may set cookies once you play it; see YouTube’s own privacy policy for details.
To display our text, your browser loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address. Our website is hosted on a UK data centre provider. Links to other websites, including our clients’ sites, are covered by those sites’ own privacy policies.
Where we rely on your consent, we ask for it clearly and separately from anything else: we don’t use pre-ticked boxes, we explain what the information is for, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Refusing consent won’t affect the service you receive from us.
We keep enquiries only for as long as we need them to deal with your request and any work that follows, and then delete them.
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, contact us using the details above. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
